Technical Writer

Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Job Description

Xelerated is seeking an experienced Technical Writer with knowledge and experience of the communication industry and especially hardware and software for carrier class switches and routers. You will work with documentation of all aspects of our network processors and associated software.

You will report to the VP of Software Systems Development.

Responsibilities

• Design, create and maintain technical documentation including user guides, system descriptions and specifications, user manuals, and other documents.
• Generate information in the absence of engineering specifications or other product requirement documents.
• Gathering and analyzing information by collaborating with developers to clarify technical issues; liaising with subject matter experts and technical specialist.
• Work with a broad range of individuals within the company.
• Accommodate frequent engineering changes.
• Acquire and maintain expertise in tools required to produce our materials.
• As an integral part of a cross-functional team, learn Xelerated's products by hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Must have three to five years experience as a technical writer.
• Experience writing functional specifications as well as hardware and software documentation.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of Microsoft office packages, AuthorIT and FrameMaker.
• Good knowledge in HTML and XML.
• Experience with hardware and software development lifecycle challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to both work independently and collaborate among staff located at remote sites.
• Demonstrated ability to interview, research, and write clearly.

Language Skills

You are either a native English speaker or have superb English skills. It is considered a merit if you are fluent in Swedish as well but is not a requirement as all materials is produced in English.
